The Psychology Board of Australia’s revised Continuing professional development registration standard (CPD standard) takes effect today.
The CPD standard defines the mandatory CPD requirements that psychologists need to meet to maintain general registration in the profession.
The CPD standard was revised after a scheduled review, which included public consultation and was approved by the Australian Health Workforce Ministerial Council on 27 August 2015. The revised CPD standard was published on the Board’s website on 31 October 2015, together with supporting materials, to allow psychologists to review the revised standard prior to it coming into effect.
The revised CPD standard is available on the Registration standards page. It applies to all psychologists with general registration and is effective from today - the first day of the 2015–2016 registration renewal cycle.
For more information on the changes made to the registration standard, see the Board’s CPD resources. Additionally, AHPRA’s registration standards page includes further information and resources, including a joint consultation report which gives a brief summary of the consultation process.
